The Police and Council are aware of concerns regarding drug dealing and anti-social behaviour in the Fortunegate Road and St Thomas Road and other areas. Reports and concerns raised by residents are taken seriously and are being actively addressed through ongoing partnership work. Over the past few weeks, a series of operations have been conducted across Roundwood, focusing on tackling drug-related activity and anti-social behaviour. These operations have yielded positive results, and further activity is planned to build on this progress and continue addressing issues affecting the community. We recognise that there is no quick fix to these challenges. Effective and lasting solutions require time, resources, and careful planning. However, please be assured that both the Police and Council remain committed to tackling these concerns and will continue to work proactively to make the area safer for everyone. We would also like to thank residents for their courage in reporting incidents and for their patience while this work continues. We understand the impact these issues can have on daily life, and your support and cooperation are invaluable. Please remember that you are not facing these challenges alone. The Police and Council are working alongside you and remain committed to supporting the community every step of the way. Residents are encouraged to continue reporting incidents and to engage through Met Engage by sharing local concerns, information, and suggestions. Community intelligence plays a vital role in helping us identify issues, target resources effectively, and achieve lasting results. In addition, we encourage residents to consider simple but effective security measures around their properties. Good external lighting, doorbell cameras, and CCTV systems can help deter criminal activity, discourage loitering, and provide valuable evidence when incidents occur. Keeping front gardens and entrances well-maintained and ensuring clear lines of sight can also make the area less attractive to those engaged in anti-social or criminal behaviour. Every report, every piece of information, and every positive action taken by residents helps. By working together as a community, alongside the Police and Council, we can continue to tackle these issues, improve the local environment, and help keep Roundwood safe for everyone. | ||
